Chanting is FREE of charge it's the original true purpose of Shakyamuni or Gautama Buddha allowed all people to attain Buddhahood's happiness through Lotus Sutra With Chanting in latter day of the Law! To receive membership fees and donation exchanging the rights to chant is truly NONSENSE it's for selfish interests of greedy individuals to form a religion! He did not state must pay or donate money in order to chant and change your life! Self salvation is possible even without the Gohonzon, the object of worship. Nichiren Daishonin's first chanting of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo was facing the eastern sun April 28, 1253!
Famous Nichiren's quote "Never seek this Gohonzon outside yourself. The Gohonzon exists only within the mortal flesh of us ordinary people who embrace the Lotus Sutra and chant Namu-Myōhō-Renge-Kyō. This Gohonzon also is found only in the two characters for faith. This is what the sutra means when it states that one can gain entrance through faith alone."
