Nichiren's "Earthly desires are enlightenment" does not mean that even you pursue riches and wealth are themselves the products or benefits of your enlightenment or wisdom after chanting long time. Should mean about the correct choices you make in life to lead you towards happiness and correct path thus that will not make you more greedy and seek more wealth!! Yet the priesthood and Soka work otherwise to seek more wealth and decorate buildings in gold!! Even Butsudans or cabinets for worship are created in gold, what for?? This defeats the purpose to practice the correct teaching. Imagine the amount of donation they collected from you to create wealth!!
