Why chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo can transform sicknesses to cure?

Nichiren (1222–1282) states, “Such persons, who honestly discard their expedient means, put faith in the Lotus Sutra alone, and chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, will transform three paths of earthly desires, karma, and suffering into the three virtues of the Dharma body, wisdom, and emancipation.” Nichiren taught that the three virtues are potentials within the three paths, and become manifest from within them. Nichiren had intended The Gosho "Opening of the Eyes" as a declaration of his role as the Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law who expounds and spreads the true teaching that can lead all people this lifetime to Buddhahood. But many Soka Gakkai SGI leaders have interpreted that earthly desires are greed so to be greedy is natural which they are wrong and have completely misinterpreted! Why they greedy for wealth!
